From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to the 12,000+ community members who continue to be part of our story. As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with deep gratitude—for the art created, the voices uplifted, and the meaningful connections forged across communities around the world. None of this work would be possible without you.
As we close this giving season, we invite you to support the Human Impacts Institute and help us continue empowering creative, community-driven solutions for a more just and livable future. Your generosity sustains the artists, youth leaders, organizers, and storytellers who make this work possible.
Before the year officially comes to a close, we’d love to share a few milestones and collaborations that defined 2025 for us:
Creative Climate Awards (CCA) 2025 — Inspiring Futures
In April, HII presented a month-long exhibition in NYC, bringing together 42 artists from 19 countries to envision futures where humanity rises to meet the climate crisis. We are grateful to the 860+ visitors who experienced this powerful exhibition. This year also marked our first-ever CCA in Marseille, France, inspired by our Green Map Marseille project developed with local youth, spotlighting more than 150 Environmental Justice organizations across the city.
Creative Climate Communications Lab
Over the summer, our inaugural cohort of Social Amplifiers—seven dynamic justice leaders from across New York City—completed a two-day intensive designed to strengthen their roles as community catalysts and climate justice advocates. In December, Fellows launched community-based climate projects ranging from environmental justice workshops and music exploring green burial practices to park cleanups, where volunteers removed nearly 400 pounds of trash.
Creative Climate Forum — Fast Responses, Slow Revolutions
During NYC Climate Week, we partnered with WNET Group and many inspiring collaborators to host our Creative Climate Forum. The gathering brought together scientists, creatives, policymakers, and more than 250 community members for panels, workshops, and artistic experiences exploring urgent and imaginative responses to the climate crisis.
Echoes of Change — Global Youth Leadership Sound Installation
For over two months, we amplified the voices of youth climate leaders from more than 40 countries through an immersive audio installation at the Climate Imaginarium on Governors Island and later at the iconic Pier 57. The installation wove together climate demands, cultural memory, and frontline stories into an emotional, interactive experience.
New Publication: How Everyday Voices Drive Big Change
Our latest publication explores how ordinary people, united by shared purpose, ignite movements that reshape communities and influence the world around them. It highlights the power of collective action—proving that meaningful social change doesn’t start with institutions, but with everyday voices coming together to be heard.
There are so many more stories to share – but for now – thank you for believing in the power of creativity, community, and collective action. With your continued support, we look forward to building even more impact together in the year ahead.
With gratitude and radical hope for a transformative 2026,
Tara & The Human Impacts Institute Crew
